Jeremy Lyons will be playing the Concierto de Aranjuez with the Warminster Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Joseph Lovecchio. Today and tomorrow only, (April 10th and 11th) the Peabody Renaissance Ensemble will perform a program of Spanish medeival and Renaissance music in Griswold Hall at the Peabody Conservatory. Jeremy regularly performs Baroque guitar with the ensemble and the ensemble features music played on period instruments such as viola da gamba, recorder, vielle, oud, and various percussion instruments. On Saturday, March 22nd, Jeremy will perform with the Peabody Consort in a recital that is part of the Kent Chamber Music series 25th season. Jeremy will be playing Baroque Guitar and Bandora as the Peabody Consort performs Spanish and English Renaissance music. The concert will take place at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland and begins at 7pm. On Sunday, March 30th, Jeremy will be giving a solo recital as part of the Wilmington Classical Guitar Society’s 2013-2014 season. The recital will be held at the Music School of Delaware, Wilmington Branch, and will begin at 3pm. On Monday, November 25th, Jeremy will be performing chamber music for his fifth Peabody doctoral recital.
The program includes the Antonio Vivaldi Concerto in D (RV93), Drei Fragmente Nach Holderlin by Hans Werner Henze, and the Op. 143 Guitar Quintet by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Performing with Jeremy will be violinists Chi-Yin Chen and Zhangyi Chen, violist Elise Skaggs, cellist Emily Smith, and soprano Lisa Perry.
This program of exciting music performed by exceptional musicians is free and open to the public. The recital will take place in Griswold Hall on the campus of the Peabody Conservatory and begins at 6:30 pm.
Don’t miss the Peabody Renaissance Ensemble in concert on Thursday November 21st and Friday November 22nd in Griswold Hall on the campus of the Peabody Conservatory. Jeremy will be playing a bandora (a sixteenth-century, wire-strung continuo instrument) accompanying the ensemble as they perform English music by John Dowland. Also be sure to stay for the second half of the program as the Baltimore Baroque Band performs music by Henry Purcell.
