I am excited to announce my fourth DMA recital at the Peabody Conservatory will be held on Thursday, May 2nd at 6:30 pm in Griswold Hall.
The program will include solo works by Rodrigo, Falla, and Tedesco. I will also be performing the seven Spanish folk songs with my duo partner, Soprano, Lisa Perry. I will conclude my concert with the four preludes and fugues for two guitars by Tedesco featuring Petrit Ceku. This will be an encore performance from Petrit’s concert in March.
Admission to student recitals is free so this is a great opportunity to see Lisa, Petrit, and myself at no cost.
My friend Petrit Ceku will be giving a recital at the Peabody Conservatory in the Griswold recital hall on March 28th at 8pm. I will join Petrit for the last 20 minutes of music performing duos by Castelnuovo-Tedesco. If you miss these duos, look for my recital coming up on May 5th for another opportunity to hear them.
February 11th I will be performing with the Peabody consort of viols in Conservatory room 308 in the Peabody Conservatory. Our performance will include 6 part works by John Jenkins and john Ward, and 3 part works by Matthew Locke. Come listen to some great late Renaissance English viol music! (I will be playing viol not guitar).
I will be performing music with soprano Lisa Perry Friday February 1st at 12 noon. This recital is the first of the 2013 season of The Walters First Friday Recital Series. We will be performing Benjamin Britten’s Op.58 Songs From The Chinese, a set of songs and lute solos by John Dowland, some Spanish songs with text by Garcia-Lorca and guitar solos by Falla and Rodrigo, and some German Lieder. Lisa and I perform regularly as a duo and I will post our next engagement as it becomes available.
On January 17th at 8pm, I will be giving my third recital as part of my doctoral degree in Griswold Hall in the Peabody Conservatory. I will be performing two great guitar concertos. The guitar concerto in D major Op.99 by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and The Concierto Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo. These are two of the most important guitar concertos of the 20th century and I am excited to be performing them on the same program. Accompanying me will be Wasin Prasertlap on the piano.
